Teaching in Boutique Education for untrained applicants

 

If you are an untrained teacher, you may be feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of leading a class. But don't worry, our training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed.

Our program is tailored specifically to the needs of untrained teachers, providing a comprehensive introduction to teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, lesson planning, and assessment methods. Over the course of the program, you will learn how to engage and motivate students, create a positive classroom culture, and effectively communicate with parents and colleagues.

Overview

Through a combination of hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and expert-led instruction, you will gain practical experience and develop a strong foundation in teaching fundamentals. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other untrained teachers, sharing your experiences and insights as you progress through the program.

At the conclusion of the training, you will have the tools and resources you need to confidently lead a class and make a positive impact on the lives of your students. We are committed to supporting you every step of the way and are excited to help you begin your journey as a successful educator.

Programme length: 2-week sponsored introductory training

Bond length: 1 year

Selection Process

Requirements 

  • Commitment towards the development and well-being of children.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to engage children.

  • Enthusiasm and creativity to nurture the next generation.

  • Strong in multi-tasking and organisational skills.

Shortlisted applicants will undergo the following 2 stages in the selection process:

​

1. Selection interview

Shortlisted applicants can expect to receive an update from us on the arrangements for the selection interview within 6 weeks of the close of the application window. If you have not heard from us by then, you should assume that your application is unsuccessful.

​

The interview comprises 3 components:

  • Written task

  • Short presentation

  • Discussion with the panel

 

You can expect to spend about 2 hours at Boutique Education. You will need to bring the original copies of all your certificates and supporting documents for verification. We may ask you to submit additional documents, based on your shortlisted subject and teaching level.

2. Other assessments

You may be required to undergo the following:

  • Entrance proficiency tests

  • Additional interviews or auditions

  • Psychometric tests and related assessments

Day 1: Classroom Management

  • Introduction to classroom management strategies

  • Techniques for creating a positive classroom culture

  • Effective methods for dealing with disruptive behavior

  • Importance of establishing routines and procedures

  • Role-playing scenarios to practice classroom management techniques

 

Day 2: Lesson Planning and Delivery

  • Overview of effective lesson planning

  • Techniques for developing engaging and interactive lesson plans

  • Introduction to different teaching styles and methods

  • Strategies for delivering lessons effectively

  • Practice developing and delivering a sample lesson

 

Day 3: Differentiated Instruction

  • Explanation of differentiated instruction and its benefits

  • Strategies for differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students

  • Tools and resources for implementing differentiated instruction

  • Collaboration and planning time to develop differentiated instruction plans

 

Day 4: Assessment and Evaluation

  • Overview of different types of assessments and their purposes

  • Techniques for creating assessments that align with lesson objectives

  • Strategies for using assessment data to guide instruction

  • Discussion of effective evaluation methods and grading practices

  • Practice developing and grading assessments

 

Day 5: Professional Development and Growth

  • Discussion of the importance of ongoing professional development

  • Introduction to professional development resources and opportunities

  • Techniques for reflective practice and self-assessment

  • Goal setting for continued growth and development as a teacher

  • Planning for ongoing support and mentorship.
